If you’re training to become an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI), you can book the required theory test appointment using our site, too!

The ADI theory test is different to the standard theory test as you will be required to answer 100 multiple-choice questions in 90 minutes. The questions are divided into groups of 25 across the following four categories:

* road procedure

* traffic signs and signals, car control, pedestrians and mechanical knowledge

* driving test, disabilities, and the law

* publications and instructional techniques

You will then need to take a hazard perception test, and you must pass both parts to pass the overall test. The pass mark for the multiple-choice section is 85 out of 100, and you must score 57 out of 75 on the hazard perception test to be awarded a theory test pass certificate.
