Failing the driving theory test is immensely frustrating, and costly, especially if you’re a student at school, college or university or a low-income earner. We recognise that learning to drive is expensive, which is why when you book a theory test with us, you’re covered by our free driving theory test retake guarantee.
However, there are conditions! You’re entitled to up to three free retests, provided you meet the following criteria.
Free Driving Theory Test Eligibility Criteria
1) Your original theory test must have been booked via the Book Theory Test Today site.
2) You must provide us with an original copy of your theory test failure sheet.
3) You must have scored a minimum of 38 out of 50 on the multiple choice part of the test to be eligible for a free driving theory test.
4) You must sit the exam to be eligible for a free driving theory test – you do not qualify for a free resit if:
* You’re late to your theory test appointment and refused entry
* You turn up to your test appointment with the wrong documentation and you’re refused entry
* You’re ill and cannot attend the exam
* You’re removed from the exam on suspicion of cheating or any other reason you’re escorted from the test
The free driving theory test scheme also applies to hazard perception failure. If you pass the multiple choice section, but fail the hazard perception part, you are entitled to a free resit. There’s no minimum score requirement if you fail the hazard perception test. Provided that you meet the eligibility criteria, we will book a free theory test on your behalf for the exam type you took, including car and motorcycle exams.
